The End of a Dream

A 15 year dream ended last night. The Oilers lost in game 7 to the Carolina Hurricanes. I am pretty upset today, but knowing that they were the 8th seed in the West, and have not been to the Cup Finals in 15 years makes me feel great…

I am proud of those kids. Pisani had a playoff for the ages. And Ryan Smith, hopefully the next Oiler captain, showed he bleeds Oiler blue.

I am proud to be an Edmontonian. NO DOUBT!!!

I just realized that I have been enjoying hockey well into the month of June. What a run.

Back to the dog-days-of-summer. Man this time of year sucks. Hockey is over, football is months away from starting, the NBA playoffs are over, and the MLB is in full swing. Only 140 more baseball games left. Gawd, I HATE BASEBALL.

This is a short BLOG today. It is a day of mourning here, and I am wearing black. Ok, that is a bit overstated, I am in linen pants and a sport coat, but I will be in black tomorrow. I am heading to NY City on business for the first time in 10 years. I am heading to a meeting with Microsoft. Crazy. I have been in DC for 10 years, traveled to Manhattan many times for pleasure, but NEVER for work.

I am looking forward to heading out to dinner, going to the Mandarin Hotel for drinks and playing a bit. I love that city. Not as much as Miami, but it is very cool. I will let you all know how it goes when I get back…

Ciao!!!
