Oil Slick Makes a HUGE Mess…
A road trip from Washington DC to Raleigh NC, begins with an 80 MPH drive through a hurricane level storm, 7.5” of rain dumped in less than 12 hours, and culminates with a massive flood in the city. Cars and trucks were seen floating down the street, police closed major sections of the city, and entire city blocks were under water.
The Edmonton Oilers were playing the Carolina Hurricanes Wednesday evening. Game time was 8 p.m. It was game 5 of the STANLEY CUP FINALS!!!
After a shower and shave, the night began with a customer of mine meeting me for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in the eastern USA. We sat down for dinner, had some great wine (Castle Rock Pinot Noir) and finished with a hurried cab ride to the RBC Arena.
The Edmonton Oilers were playing in game 5 of the Stanley Cup. For those of you that do not know, I am from Edmonton, and the Oilers have not been to the Stanley Cup Finals in 15 years. My brother got the tickets for us, through an Edmonton Oiler “friend of his”. Thanks Bro!!! The stadium was sold out, packed with rabid Hurricane fans wanting delivery of Lord Stanley’s Cup. They would all leave the arena broken hearted due to Pisani’s short handed OT goal. WHAT A GAME!!! Let’s Go Oilers, Let’s Go!!!
We have some great pics from the game, so make sure you check out the new photos.
Needless to say, we had a great time. It felt like a college road trip. Guys never change. Just add beer and sporting events (or wine and vodka).
There are also some other great pictures from the house. It is really coming together. Slowly, but surely.
We wait anxiously for game 6 in Edmonton on Saturday night… Please God, let it go to game 7.
