What the DELL is up???

Wow, it has been a long time. I hate that about me. It is not that I do not like to update this site, but often time gets in my way.

It is Easter Sunday and I am writing this en route to Austin Texas. Why Austin Texas you ask? I left Infoblox (my last company) for a new role at DELL. Because some of you have asked, we are staying in Washington DC, but I have been in Austin for two weeks on customer visits and training. It looks like a great opportunity, so I am very excited. Well, the past month and a half has been crazy. We are living between two houses (just like my brother), and we are still in the midst of dealing with our builder. Man, I can hardly wait until it is all over and we can just enjoy the house.

So, I know a lot of you have been concerned about me because it has been so long, but worry not. I am working on getting some new pics up here, and I am even testing out video uploads. So look for that as a new addition to the site. (if my webmaster ever gets off his ass… I love the flag work that you added Jay) - inside joke, sorry to the rest of you.

Anyway, I got the Chariot out yesterday. For those of you that don’t know, that is my Harley. My road name (a name that other bikers know you by) is Spartacus - yes like the movie. A yuppie biker named me that. He use to ride, but has since cut off all his hair, sold his bikes and has become like ‘the man’… Actually he has not sold his bike, but I like to bust-his-chops, right Scooter?

Anyway, the ride was awesome. Dusk, pink sky, huge sun, and perfectly warm. Man I love riding… Every time I get on it hits me. I needed to burn off some steam after the previous week. Spring is here in full force, the Cherry Blossoms were awesome this year, and the buds just burst open this week and the world seems alive again. Man I love spring.

So that takes me back to the beginning of this BLOG update. It is Easter Sunday and I watched The Passion of the Christ last night. What a movie. I am totally amazed at how that movie captures the moments of the Crucifixion, and the moments of Jesus’ life just before his incarceration. I loved the moments he shared with his disciples. It was so intimate, I felt like I was in the room with him. And then it comes crashing in on me - it was my sin that nailed him there on that tree. Man what a sobering thought. I get discouraged sometimes… I screw up on the same issues so often. Frustrating. There is a song by Evanescense - Tourniquet ,that I love. The singer writes:

‘I am dying, praying, bleeding, screaming - am I too lost to be saved, am I too lost?

My God, my tourniquet - return to me salvation
My God, my tourniquet - return to me salvation

My wounds cry for the grave
My soul cries for deliverance

Will you be on the other side, will you forget me?

My God, my tourniquet - return to me salvation

Will I be — denied… Christ, my tourniquet… my suicide.

Man, that son just rips at my heart. My wounds cry for the grave, my soul cries for deliverance. Poignant.

Anyway, think about that and why the world celebrates Easter and Christmas. A dead Savior? Yeah right…

So what else? Hmmm. The Oilers are in the playoffs, and the Coyotes are NOT. Eat that Ty… Go Oilers… i just got my Canadian satellite dish, so I get a good number of the Oiler’s games. I can hardly wait to play the Redwings. Man I hate Detroit, the city and the teams (including the Lions).

I was in Phoenix in February. My brother was on the Olympic Break, so we got to spend some great quality time together as a family. My mom was even there. What a riot. The babies were awesome as always. Ty and I played dinosaurs, I got to play a version of billiards with Maddie (Maddie made up all the rules), and I got to bathe Georgie. What a blast. I love that.

I had a BLOG update started on that trip home that I never got to finish. So that should fill in the blanks for you all.

Oh yeah, on the home front, I got to finish the Theater. Wow, it is unreal. We watched ‘Walk The Line’ as the official ‘family’ opening (but I did enjoy a prescreening of Apocalypse Now as a personal first run in the theater). The HDTV projector and the 104″ screen kick ass. The Clarity speakers and the DTS sound shakes the seats. I can hardly wait to share the experience. We are selling tickets for upcoming showings… Book early…

Well, that about does it. The latest update to a busy life. Love you all, and expect pictures soon.

Spartacus.
